Don't throw good money after bad
« on: March 29, 2012, 10:15:47 PM »

You ever see those people who keep playing long after they should stop?  They end up losing everything.  I tell people to do the same thing with slots as with other games.  If you play for 30 minutes without hitting anything, switch to a different type of game.

Yes and I was that player one time and quickly learned my lesson. Its like beating a dead horse, its just not a smart thing to do and it helps nothing.

I have a set amount that I start with each session - only $10.  If I win, I can keep playing.  If I lose all $10 without winning, then my night of gambling is over.  When I go to an offline casino, I also set myself a budget and then stop.

I think all of us players have gone through that and eventually realized what we were doing. What gets me are the people who don't get it, and keep playing like mad scientists or something!

I usually will give myself a certain dollar amount on a machine - if I haven't gotten into the bonus round, for example, after betting that dollar amount, I switch games. I only play games that have a bonus round of some sort - I like pictures!    So that's my guide.

I think those type people have a real problem. They may be addicts or at least they are starting to become addicts. I know I could never go that far with gambling.
