I don't know how true this is, but I read somewhere that if a slot does not pay out in the first ten or so spins, it's probably cold because someone just won. If someone just won, then you will be feeding and feeding that slot with little chance of payout. It's best to move on to a new slot.

That's an old wives' tale.  There is an equal chance to win on every single spin.  A slots machine or online slots game could hit 7 times in a row or it could be 1000 spins between hits.  It's completely pure chance.

I keep reading conflicting reports on cold slot machines. Some say it's a myth, and others say it's not a myth and a player should move to another slot after so many spins. I guess the best thing to do is play at your own discretion.

Have you heard the one that says people should pick a slot machine closest to an exit because more people have played on it? I've heard that one for years. I don't know why. Go figure!

I am not really sure how anyone from the general public could test this theory out. I know there are tons of tales too but I just do not see how you could properly stalk one single machine without being asked to leave (hopefully nicely).
